Mugam Evi

The Mugam-Art is an important part of the professional musical Azerbaijani culture and was the name giver for the new Mugam Evi concert hall in Baku. The building is made of three pieces, which are all connected, and it contains an opera house, a museum and a restaurant. It was built in one year, from July 2007 to June 2008, and it is located in the district of museums in Baku. The UNESCO, who declared the historical district around the fortress walls for world heritage in the year 2000, established the project.

The concert hall consists of a 500 to steel construction. The establishment of this steel construction was a big challenge. The difficulty was in the three-dimensional curved pipes. Every single pipe consists of elliptical radii in two levels. It would not have been possible to create this steel construction in 2D.  Therefor the constructors of NCA used a special 3D construction software.
