Piping System

This is a piping system of high-grade steel 1.4571 for the waste gas regulation in an engine test bed. In the order of AVL-List GmbH, which was engaged by Daimler Chrysler as general contractor for the construction of the MH3, we built 72 pieces of engine test beds from April 2002 until May 2004.

Our performances covered the development of the raw modules manufactured by Stugeba to test beds fully able to work. We planned, manufactured and set up pipework and slope systems for fuels, cooling water, compressed air and drinking water, shafts and distributor boxes for waste gas as well as for supply and exhaust air. We also installed a swinging foundation with air feathers, a raising system, a braking machine with power take-off rope, a dock plate and various accessories.

We have delivered the last engine test bed in May 2004. Daimler Chrysler named us a a reliable partner at the opening ceremony.

A couple of data:

  • 300 running metres high grade steels of nominal diameter 15 to nominal diameter 100 (partial with insulation)
  • 200 running metres shafts and form pieces
  • approx. 30.000 production and assembly hours
  • approx. 6.000 construction hours, supervision and technical removals
